Vice-Chair of Governors

Tracey Taylor (Foundation Governor appointed by the Parochial Church Council until Dec 2018)

Committees: Finance, Premises & Personnel and Strategic Development & Pupils

I am a Foundation Governor, appointed by the PCC in 2014 and having previously served as the Local Authority Governor since 2010. I became Chair of Governors in autumn 2015. I am one of the link Governors for Early Years at St Peter’s.

I live in Gringley, with my husband and our two sons, both of whom spent their primary school years at St Peter’s school - a happy and positive time. My interests have revolved around the children; supporting them at school, and in their sports and activities. I’m also a member of the PCC in Gringley and of the Gringley book club.

My professional background is in banking and finance, from which I “retired” when I became a mum. When my sons were young I re-trained and worked in early-years childcare, including at local schools and playgroups. These days I am a serving District Councillor, as well as the Childrens’ Chaperone and “Nanny” for the Majestic Theatre School in Retford.

Headteacher

Yvonne Reeson

Committees: Finance, Premises & Personnel and Strategic Development & Pupils

I have been teaching since 1993 and have been Headteacher of St. Peter’s since January 2016. Prior to my arrival at St. Peter's, I was the deputy Head teacher at Misterton Primary School for 12 years so I'm very familiar with the local area and the 'operations' of its primary schools.

I consider myself to be very privileged to be leading such a wonderful school. I am extremely happy in my job and whilst it's very hard work, it is also a very rewarding job. No two days are ever the same and the children never fail to bring a smile to my face.

Whilst I have taught in North Yorkshire, Leeds and Doncaster during my career, having spent much of my childhood visiting family in Gringley-on-the-Hill, I do feel that I've finally come home.

I love drama, reading (when I get the time) and tap dancing and I spend a significant amount of my weekends with my family in muddy fields!

Joanne Cowlam (Parent Governor appointed until Nov 2018)

Committees: Strategic Development & Pupils

I have lived in Gringley for the last six years. I have two children; my eldest is currently in Year 1 and my youngest will start school in September 2016.

I work part-time as a primary school teacher, a job which I love and have done for 13 years. On a Wednesday, I help run the local toddler group 'Sticky Fingers' and I've recently joined the school's PTFA.

I am enjoying being involved in our village school and hope to continue for many years.

I am a retired Special Needs Specialist Teacher with a continued interest in Education. I moved into the village in 2005 and was a member of Gringley Methodist Church until its closure.  I have supported a variety of activities within St. Peter's School and its links with the Methodist Church.

I continue to be an active member of the community within various groups & societies.

Dr. Patrick O'Horan

Committees: Strategic Development & Pupils

I live in Gringley-on-the-Hill with my wife Susan, we have two adult daughters. I am a doctor in a busy general practice where I am the senior partner responsible for all areas of child and adult health. Within St Peter’s I am a Foundation governor with particular interest in the welfare of our pupils and the maintenance of Christian values within the school.

Bettina Houghton (Staff Governor appointed until 1st February 2021)

Committees: Strategic Development & Personnel

I have been working at St.Peter’s Primary school since 2002; prior to that I had worked in schools in Derbyshire. I moved back to the area, having been brought up locally. I initially started teaching in Class 2 then moved into Class 3 in 2012. I have responsibilities within the school for maths, special needs and pupil premium. I am passionate about supporting our most vulnerable children. It is a privilege to teach the oldest children in the school and help prepare them for their transition to secondary school.

I run the after-school astronomy club for which there is a small charge. However, the monies raised go directly back into the school fund to pay for astronomy equipment to be used by the club members.
