Impact:

 

As a result of this spending –

  • The teaching of REAL PE has allowed a consistent approach throughout the

school, ensuring progress and curriculum coverage. The programme has also been

resourced with high quality, REAL PE specific resources.

  • All staff have improved their knowledge, skills and understanding of the

delivery of high-quality PE lessons particularly in tennis and gymnastics

  • Attendance at inter-school sports events has been assured as a result of our
  • involvement in the Bassetlaw School Sports including indoor athletics, multi-skills,
  • handball, gymnastics, tag rugby, orienteering, cross-country, dance and Boccia

Children have been able to close the gap to their peers with their swimming skills.

  • All full-time children, including those in the Foundation Stage) have accessed out-of-
  • school PE experiences designed to improve physical skills, confidence and enjoyment
  • The school's football team have secured a place in the semi-final of the

Bassetlaw League 2017-18

Initial budget: £8,308

Spending (as of October 2016):

 

  • £415: Skipping Workshop for whole school and skipping ropes
  • £678: 6 weeks of gymnastic coaching sessions at Retford Gymnastic Club for Class 2
  • £660: Transport to Retford Gymnastics Club
  • £375: 5 x tennis lessons for each class
  • £4,599: to support swimming beyond minimum National Curriculum requirements
  • £135: 3 x crash course swimming lessons
  • £118: ‘Striver’ mini Olympics resources
  • £93: ‘Sportsafe’ Annual Inspection
  • £745: Bassetlaw Schools Sports Package including pupil events and staff CPD
  • £495: ‘Real PE’ training (3 x full days)  for PE leader and resources for lower Key Stage 2

 

Total: £8,290

 

Impact:

 

As a result of this spending -

  • All staff have improved their knowledge, skills and understanding of the delivery of high-quality PE lessons including tennis, skipping and gymnastics
  • More children have attended the after-school sports clubs including football and street dance
  • A considerable number of children skip at playtimes and lunchtimes using high quality ropes
  • Attendance at inter-school sports events has been assured including indoor athletics, multi-skills, handball, gymnastics, tag rugby, orienteering, cross-country, dance and boccia
  • P.E leader is trained to coach other teachers in ‘Real P.E’ lessons and lower Key Stage Two pupils are being taught ‘Real P.E’
  • Children have been able to close the gap to their peers with their swimming skills.
  • All Key Stage One & Two children accessed out-of-school experiences designed to improve physical skills and enjoyment
  • The school's football team have secured a place in the semi-final of the  Bassetlaw League 2016-17
