BookBench Sculptures Competition

North Notts BID is working with creative producers Wild in Art to create an art trail across the region in the summer of 2020. The event will feature 40 BookBench sculptures featuring individually designed artworks.

You are cordially invited to enter a design competition to win one of these BookBench sculptures to decorate with designs inspired by journeys, adventure, freedom and pioneering spirit - themes all found in a good book.

We are looking for designs that celebrate North Notts’ heritage, culture and environment in the past, present and future. For example, we hope to see artwork exploring the county’s history of mining, as well as Scrooby and Babworth’s links to the voyage of the Mayflower as, next year it is 400 years since the ship set sail.

Completed BookBenches will go on display in town centres and key locations next summer, creating a trail that encourages families to initiate their own adventures, to get active and explore parts of North Notts they might never have visited before. Once the project is finished, the sculptures will become a permanent feature in a school library, book corner or outside learning environment, leaving a legacy for the community.

Enjoy creating your own design ideas for bookshaped art and please remember, we are always available should you need any support or advice.

If you require any further information please contact the Wild in Art Learning Team at learning@wildinart.co.uk.

Very best of luck!
