Candidates' Personal Statements

Rachael Armstrong

I have lived in the village since 2006 and have 3 children. Over the next 10 years at least one of my children will be attending St Peter's. I am therefore committed to helping the school maintain its high standards for all children. I am a primary school teacher and in my previous job I was Early Years Leader and Literacy Leader. I have experience of teaching in Japan and Dubai and I have an interest in promoting cultural and religious diversity. I am presently a full time Mum and enjoy helping run the village toddler group.

Joanne Cowlam

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a parent governor over the last four years and feel I have much more to contribute going forward in the running of St Peter's. As I work in a large, inclusive primary school, I believe this gives me a great insight into the performance of a striving school. With my in-depth knowledge of St Peter's and my passion for teaching, I would love the opportunity to continue my role.

Joanna Favill

I wish to contribute to school and help ensure all children have an eagerness to learn and achieve the academic and life skills that give them the best start. I run my own business and can bring several skills, including developing new ideas and strategic planning. Before this, I worked in and led teams which delivered major development projects, with varied partners, from private businesses to government. I want pupils to be the happiest and best they can be.

Neil Peirson

I am currently a lecturer at a Further Education College. In the past, I have been a School Governor at a local primary school and a Parish Councillor. I have recently become the Treasurer of the St Peter's PTFA.

Carla Wragg

My background in Further Education has exposed me to a range of educational experiences including Ofsted inspections and contributing towards management of the department. I have been a key volunteer at Walkeringham Playgroup, managing finances and fundraising, and recently I have started an Initial Teacher Training Course, training as a Primary School teacher. I like to support the PTFA in fundraising events; recently serving cream tea at the school sports day and running a stall at the summer fair. I am a person who loves to learn and recreationally I enjoy running and fitness.
