Our mission is to provide a caring, healthy and enjoyable Christian environment in which all children feel nurtured and protected, and are encouraged to achieve their full potential in learning and in life.
"Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me."
(Jesus, in Matthew chapter 18, verse 5)
Welcome to the St Peter's C of E Primary School website. I hope you find the information helpful and that it gives you a taste of the happy, caring and industrious school that we are.
St Peter's is a Voluntary Aided school; it represents a partnership between Nottinghamshire County Council and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. The school has very good links with the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul's in the village and has a strong Christian ethos.
St. Peter’s C of E Primary School caters for boys and girls aged 3-11 years of age.
Our Pupil Admission Number is 12 so classes are mixed age-range:
- Foundation Stages 1 & 2
- Class One (Years 1 & 2)
- Class 2 (Years 3 & 4)
- Class 3 (Years 5 & 6)
St. Peter’s is set in pleasant grounds with a large playing field; school garden; musical garden; outdoor storytelling area; football pitch; climbing wall; willow den and a trim trail.
Everyone at St Peter's is immensely proud of our school.
The most recent OFSTED report in December 2014 was very positive, and St. Peter's was found to be a good school with consistently good teaching of exciting and motivating lessons. As one child said ‘Everything is great about this school because everyone is so caring.’ Full details can be found can be found via the OFSTED website or under 'Key Documents'.
This caring and nurturing environment, which reflects our school mission statement and our Christian ethos, has now been recognised by the SIAMS (The National Society's Statutory Inspection of Anglican & Methodist Schools) in March 2015, which has awarded us the grade of OUTSTANDING. St. Peter’s is a school in which Christian and British values are shared by the whole school community and lived out in every aspect of school life, allowing the needs of all learners to be met.
Confidence in a school comes from knowing and understanding what is happening within it. We hope you will take advantage of the opportunities throughout the year to visit the school on occasions such as concerts, class assemblies, learning walks/workshops, sports days and Parents, Teachers and Friends Association functions, as well as the parent-teacher consultation evenings.
If you are considering our school for your child/ren, please do contact the school to arrange a visit. We will be delighted to show you around and to give you the opportunity to meet our children and members of staff.
