Our topic for this term is Homes. We will be looking at homes from around the world, including what materials are used for building homes. In science we study the properties of materials, reversible and irreversible changes, and use what we know to design a rain hat. We will also be experimenting about which type of paper is best for making a paper aeroplane.
Our Maths work focuses on place value. We have been looking at finding one and ten more or less, using a hundred square, and partitioning.
Children in Class One enjoy a tailored programme of Read, Write Inc. Phonics. This includes teaching reading and writing skills.
If you wish to change your child's home reading book, they will have opportunities at break times, or you are welcome to change their book before or after school.
Currently Class One have access to Mathletics on Fridays. Please ensure their PE kit is in school on Wednesday and Friday.
